What Happens If You Break the Rules on Gig.tn – Warnings, Suspensions & Account Bans

Updated over 2 months ago

To protect the Gig.tn marketplace and maintain fairness, rule enforcement is taken seriously.

Whether you’re a buyer or a freelancer, repeated violations — or even a single serious offense — can lead to temporary or permanent consequences.

This article explains what happens when rules are broken, how warnings and suspensions are handled, and what to expect if your account is restricted or banned.

🟡 First-Time Violations – Warnings

Not all rule breaks will result in an instant ban. For minor or unintentional infractions, Gig.tn may issue a formal warning.

Warnings are typically issued for:

  • Submitting gigs that violate formatting or keyword guidelines

  • Mild spam (e.g., copy/paste promotions)

  • Posting low-quality content that doesn't meet minimum standards

  • Unclear gig descriptions that may mislead customers (unintentionally)

If you receive a warning:

  • You’ll get a notification via email and/or your dashboard

  • You’ll be given a chance to revise or remove the violating content

  • You’ll be expected to comply immediately, or further action will be taken

Multiple warnings for different violations may lead to a suspension.

🟠 Temporary Account Suspensions

Suspensions are more serious and can be applied with or without prior warning, especially for:

  • Submitting prohibited gigs listed in our [Platform Rules]

  • Attempting to take communication or payments off-platform

  • Ignoring warnings or repeating the same violation

  • Harassing, threatening, or manipulating another user

  • Using stolen, fake, or AI-generated content without disclosure or permission

What happens during a suspension:

  • You’ll lose access to certain features (e.g., messaging, gig editing, withdrawals)

  • Your gigs may be temporarily hidden from search

  • You will be notified of the reason and whether the suspension is timed or under review

Suspensions are usually temporary, and your account may be reinstated once the issue is resolved. But repeated violations lead to a ban.

🔴 Permanent Account Ban

A permanent ban means you are no longer allowed to use Gig.tn, and your account will be locked, with all gigs removed from public view.

Accounts may be permanently banned for:

  • Offering illegal, fraudulent, or abusive services

  • Repeated violations after warnings or suspensions

  • Multiple reports from users for abuse or poor behavior

  • Attempting to scam, manipulate, or extort buyers or freelancers

  • Sending or receiving payments outside Gig.tn

  • Creating multiple fake accounts or identities

  • Repeatedly violating content rules or community trust

In some cases, bans are instant and irreversible, especially for actions that put the community, platform, or payment system at risk.

🧾 Appealing a Ban or Suspension

If you believe your account was banned or suspended unfairly, you can submit a formal appeal via the Gig.tn support system.

What to include in your appeal:

  • Your username or account email

  • A clear explanation of the situation

  • Any evidence or clarification (e.g., messages, screenshots)

Appeals are reviewed manually by our trust & safety team. Decisions are usually final, but some may be reconsidered in case of mistake or misunderstanding.

We do not respond to abusive, threatening, or dishonest appeals.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Gig.tn does not owe you a warning before taking action, especially if your violation is serious.

  • Creating a new account after a ban is strictly forbidden and will be detected.

  • If you are part of an agency or team, all related accounts can be affected if one member breaks the rules repeatedly.

👁️ Stay Safe, Stay Professional

Breaking the rules doesn’t just hurt your own account — it damages trust across the entire platform. We’re building something serious, and those who contribute positively will always be prioritized.

If you’re ever unsure whether something is allowed, ask Support before you post it.
