What If a Freelancer or Buyer Claims They Didn’t Receive a Payment?

How to Track Payments, Check Withdrawals, and Resolve Missing Transactions on Gig.tn

Updated over 2 months ago

It doesn’t happen often — but when it does, it causes panic.

A buyer says:

“I paid, but it’s not showing up.”

Or a freelancer says:

“The order is marked completed, but I haven’t received the money.”

Or worse:

“I requested a withdrawal, and the money still isn’t in my account.”

Before assuming the worst, here's what you should know about how Gig.tn processes payments, what to check, and what steps to take if something looks off.

🧾 First: Understand How Gig.tn Handles Funds

All payments on Gig.tn pass through a secure, verified escrow system — this means:

  • Buyers pay upfront before the freelancer begins work

  • The money is held securely by Gig.tn until the job is completed

  • Once the job is approved (or auto-completes), funds move to the freelancer’s balance

  • Freelancers can withdraw earnings once they reach 150 DNT

💡 Withdrawals are processed twice a month:

  • On the 15th

  • On the last day of the month
(unless it falls on a weekend or public holiday)

👀 Scenario 1: The Buyer Claims They Paid, But It Doesn’t Show

🧩 Step 1: Did They Complete Checkout?

Sometimes, buyers start the payment process but don’t complete it — especially on mobile or if the bank declined the transaction.

Ask them to double-check:

  • Did they see a confirmation screen after payment?

  • Did they get a payment confirmation email from Gig.tn?

  • Did their bank account or card actually show the amount deducted?

If there's no payment confirmation on Gig.tn, then no payment went through. The order may be pending or never created.

🧾 Step 2: Where to See Payment History as a Buyer

Buyers can track all successful transactions by:

  • Going to Dashboard > Orders > Purchase History

  • Viewing receipts, payment method used, and timestamp

If a payment appears on their bank/card but not in their Gig.tn dashboard — they should contact support with:

  • A screenshot of the payment receipt

  • Their Gig.tn email and username

  • The order number (if any)

Our team will verify the transaction with the payment provider and fix the issue.

💼 Scenario 2: The Freelancer Says “I Wasn’t Paid”

This one needs a breakdown:

🎯 A. Was the Order Completed?

The freelancer only gets paid after the order is marked as completed, either by:

  • The buyer clicking “Mark as Complete”

  • OR the platform auto-completing it after 5 days (if the buyer doesn’t respond)

If the job isn’t complete yet, the funds are still in escrow, and the freelancer will see the order status as “In Progress” or “Pending Completion.”

🎯 B. Did They Reach the 150 DNT Threshold?

Freelancers cannot withdraw money until their total cleared balance reaches 150 DNT.

If their balance is:

  • Below 150 DNT → The funds are still pending

  • Above 150 DNT → They’ll be included in the next withdrawal cycle

👉 To check this, the freelancer can go to:
Dashboard > Earnings > Wallet
There, they’ll see:

  • Available Balance

  • Pending Clearance

  • Withdrawal History

  • Next payout schedule

🎯 C. Was the Withdrawal Processed?

If the freelancer requested a withdrawal and it hasn’t arrived:

First, Check:

  • Did they choose the correct method? (Konnect, Bank Transfer, or Check)

  • Was it after the 15th or end-of-month payout window?

  • Did they receive an email confirmation that it was sent?

Then, consider:

  • Bank Transfers may take 1–3 business days, especially around weekends/holidays

  • Konnect withdrawals are typically instant

  • Checks (for payouts over 1000 DNT) may require extra processing or pickup details

If the payout was sent but not received after 3 business days, they should contact support with:

  • Withdrawal method used

  • Date of request

  • Any confirmation they received

Gig.tn can then confirm the transaction with the payment processor or bank.

❌ Scenario 3: The Order Was Canceled but the Buyer Was Charged

If a buyer was charged, but the order was canceled:

  • The funds were likely held in escrow and refunded as Gig.tn credit

  • If the buyer doesn’t see the funds in their account, they should:

    • Check their Credit Balance in Dashboard > Wallet

    • OR contact support to request a refund to their bank account (if over 150 DNT)

Gig.tn manually handles refunds to ensure security — nothing is lost.

🧠 Common Mistakes That Cause Confusion

  • Payment pending = The buyer paid but the freelancer hasn’t completed the job

  • Order auto-completed = Money is in freelancer’s account, but not withdrawn yet

  • Freelancer balance < 150 DNT = No payout yet

  • Bank delay = The payment was made, but takes 48–72h to appear in account

All of these are normal situations — not bugs or lost money.

🛠️ What to Do If Something Really Is Wrong

If after checking all of the above:

  • A payment is missing

  • A withdrawal was never received

  • A transaction is marked completed but the money didn’t show up

👉 Contact Support immediately with:

  • Username

  • Order or transaction ID

  • Proof of payment (screenshot)

  • Date and method of payment or withdrawal

Our team will investigate quickly — and you’ll always get a response.

✅ Gig.tn is built on trust, security, and clear payment flow. But like any financial system, delays and miscommunication can happen.

If someone says they didn’t receive a payment:

  • Check timelines

  • Review dashboards

  • Stay calm

  • And contact support with everything you can

📌 No one loses money on Gig.tn without a trace. Every transaction is tracked — and if something is off, we’ll find it, fix it, and make it right.
