What Happens If a Withdrawal Fails?

Updated over 2 months ago

Why Payouts Can Be Rejected, How to Fix It, and What to Do Next

You’ve worked hard, delivered the job, crossed the 150 DNT threshold, and finally requested your payout — but then... nothing. No money in your account. No Konnect balance update.

You wonder:

“Did something go wrong with my withdrawal?”

Sometimes, withdrawals fail — but don’t panic.

Here’s why it might happen, how to fix it fast, and when to contact the Gig.tn support team.

💸 First: How Withdrawals Work on Gig.tn

Freelancers can request a payout when their cleared balance reaches 150 DNT or more.

Withdrawals are processed:

  • Twice a month → on the 15th and the last day of the month

  • If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day

You can withdraw through:

  • Konnect (Free, instant)

  • Bank transfer (10 DNT fee)

  • Cheque (free for payouts over 1000 DNT)

After requesting, you’ll receive a confirmation email once your withdrawal is approved and sent.

❌ But Sometimes, Withdrawals Get Rejected

A failed withdrawal doesn’t mean your money is lost — it just means something went wrong during the payout process, and the funds returned to your wallet.

Here are the most common reasons:

🔎 1. Incorrect Bank or Konnect Information

This is the most common reason for failure. If:

  • Your bank account number is wrong or outdated

  • You entered a Konnect number that doesn’t exist or was deactivated

  • The account name doesn’t match your KYC info

  • The account doesn’t accept commercial transfers

Then the bank or provider will reject the transaction, and Gig.tn will be forced to cancel it on your behalf.

💡 Solution:
Double-check your payment details. If you’re not sure:

  • Update your info in the Withdrawal Settings section

  • Or contact support to review it with you

⏳ 2. Bank Delays or Rejections on Their End

Sometimes, the bank or provider accepts the request but:

  • Takes several days to process (especially during holidays)

  • Rejects it silently due to limits, compliance checks, or suspicious activity

  • Returns the funds after a delay with no explanation

💡 Solution:

  • Wait 48–72 hours before assuming it failed

  • Then contact your bank (for transfers) or Konnect support (if it was sent there)

  • Let Gig.tn know if the bank confirms no transaction was received

🛑 3. KYC Not Completed or Rejected

If your identity verification (KYC) was not approved, we cannot legally send payouts.

You may not even see the withdrawal option if:

  • You haven’t submitted your KYC

  • You submitted incorrect/incomplete documents

  • The KYC was flagged for mismatching info

💡 Solution:

  • Visit the KYC page from your dashboard (left sidebar)

  • Submit valid government-issued ID and a selfie

  • Make sure names match your bank/withdrawal info exactly

Once approved, withdrawals resume normally.

🪪 4. Name Mismatch or Suspicious Activity

We take security seriously. If we detect:

  • A name mismatch between your account and payout method

  • Unusual withdrawal requests from multiple IPs/devices

  • Attempts to withdraw to someone else’s account

  • Accounts connected to multiple users

The withdrawal may be paused and flagged for manual review.

💡 Solution:

  • Only use accounts under your own name

  • Make sure your KYC, bank/Konnect, and Gig.tn profiles all match

  • If you’re using an agency or company setup, contact us to verify

🛠️ What Happens to the Funds?

When a withdrawal fails:

  • The full amount returns to your Gig.tn wallet

  • You’ll see the transaction in your Withdrawal History, marked as “Failed” or “Returned”

  • You’ll be able to try again during the next withdrawal cycle once the issue is fixed

No funds are lost. Your balance remains secure.

📞 When to Contact Support

Reach out if:

  • It’s been 3+ business days and nothing arrived

  • You got a “Withdrawal Processed” email but no deposit

  • Your withdrawal shows as Completed but your bank/Konnect didn’t receive it

  • You’re not sure what went wrong and want us to check manually

Please include:

  • The withdrawal method you used

  • The date of the request

  • A screenshot of your current wallet or bank/Konnect statement

  • Any emails you received related to the payout

We’ll investigate and guide you through next steps.

✅ Final Word — Fix It, Try Again, and Get Paid

Most withdrawal issues are easy to fix once the problem is identified.

Gig.tn’s payout system is designed to be transparent, fair, and secure — and no withdrawal is ever lost without a full trace.

💡 Just make sure your information is accurate, your identity is verified, and you withdraw under your name — and everything will flow smoothly.
